Types of Surface Treatment
Our team offer a vast range of different surface treatment options for your metalwork, including the below:
- Galvanising
Galvanisation is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to iron or steel, to prevent rusting. The most common method is hot dip galvanising, in which steel sections are submerged in a bath of molten zinc. It forms a barrier that prevents corrosive substances from reaching the underlying steel or iron. - Powder coating
Powder coating is a dry finishing process created by an electric charge that causes a dry powder to fuse to the surface of the metal. This is then baked in a curing oven to achieve a smooth coating. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. - Paint spraying
Prevent your metal objects from signs of aging with an expert coating of spray paint. - Red oxide painting
Red oxide metal primer acts as a preparatory or protective coating that prevents rust formation on the ferrous metal surfaces exposed to humidity and air. - Fire painting (intumescent paint)
Intumescent paint for steel is a fire-retardant coating that swells when heated, creating an insulating layer to protect the steel. This helps prevent structural collapse and gives people time to evacuate safely. Intumescent paint can increase the time a steel structure can withstand during a fire by 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
At Assesmont Group Ltd, we work closely with our customers to determine their exact surface treatment requirements. Our expertise in surface treatments guarantees unmatched attention to detail and a top-quality finish for all your products.
