Structural Steelwork Fabrication & Installation
Our team specialises in the fabrication and installation of steel structures for a variety of areas, including commercial buildings, residential dwellings, and industrial applications.
Our commitment to quality ensures that all our projects adhere to BS EN 1090, an important international standard for structural steelwork fabricators and contractors. As part of our quality assurance process, we source our materials from trusted suppliers and use cutting-edge technologies to ensure accuracy, reliability and safety in all structural steelwork projects. We are experienced professionals with a wealth of knowledge in the industry, offering excellent value for money along with exceptional customer service.
Our Process – 4 Simple Steps

Design & Engineering
Our team of experts specialises in the design and engineering of steel structures to ensure that they meet the required load-bearing capacities and other safety standards. We use a variety of industry leading 3D modelling and CAD software to bring our client's vision to life and ensure that their structural steelwork projects are completed to the highest standard. We use a variety of industry leading 3D modelling and CAD software to bring our clients' visions to life and ensure that their structural steelwork projects are completed to the highest standard

Fabrication
At Assesmont Group Ltd, we handle the manufacture and assembly of steel components that make up a structure, such as beams, columns, trusses, and braces. Our skilled in-house fabricators use the latest equipment and techniques to ensure that every component is produced to the highest level of quality and accuracy. When complete, a structural design check is undertaken. A full set of yard and site general arrangement drawings are produced, and again issued for discussion. Once all is agreed, fabrication drawings are undertaken.

Erection & Installation
Our experienced team handles the placement and attachment of fabricated steel components to create a complete structure. Erection and installation require skilled labour, specialised equipment, and strict adherence to safety regulations. At Assesmont Group Ltd, we ensure that every project is completed safely and efficiently. We provide the above steel fabrication processes in our Wickford factory, but we also provide on-site steel fabrication and mobile welding.

Consulting, Surveying & Reporting
We also offer expert advice and guidance on steelwork projects, such as feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments. We can also assist with surveying and reporting to help our clients make informed decisions about their steelwork projects. We also complete non-destructive testing (NDT) where required. NDT techniques such as ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle inspection are used to detect any flaws or defects in the steelwork.
Quality, Safety & Durability
- UK CA BS EN 1090 - traceability and consistency control
-
Our team ensures compliance with BS EN 1090 (a European standard for manufacturing steelwork) through a range of quality control and testing procedures. As part of this commitment, we have achieved BS EN 1090 Execution Class 3 accreditation, which allows us to provide full traceability of our steelwork products from the mill casting to the completed installation.
We provide procurement, fabrication, delivery and installation services up to execution class 3 from our fully equipped and certified workshop.
- Execution class 3 - a higher level of safety and performance
-
We are proud to have attained Execution Class 3 for our structural steelwork projects.
Execution Class 3 in relation to structural steelwork refers to a specific level of quality and precision that is required when designing, fabricating, and erecting steel structures. There are four levels of execution classes, starting from Execution Class 1, which provides the least stringent set of controls, to Execution Class 4, which offers a higher and more rigorous set of controls.
- ISO 9001 - safety and quality
-
Assesmont Group Ltd is committed to providing high-quality steelwork products that are fit for purpose and meet the necessary standards and regulations. This includes regular inspections of our manufacturing processes and testing of our steel products to ensure they meet the required standards. Our quality control procedures are designed to ensure that our products are of the highest quality and safety.
- Constructionline Gold
-
Our Constructionline Gold membership has become the industry standard. Adopted by some of the largest buyers in the UK, brands such as VINCI, the Wates Group, BAM Construction, Kier and Balfour Beatty demand that suppliers meet this membership level. In fact, for searches that select a specific membership level, over 81% included Gold in the search criteria. This is 64% more than those that selected Silver.
