Large Fire Escape Staircase & Landings Inspection & Rectification

Project for Camden Council
Assesmont were commissioned to carry out a visual inspection of the existing fire escape staircases and landings to the rear of the property. We carry out BS 8210:2020 Code of Practice surveys, covering building escape routes and structural inspections & recommendations.
The staircase comprises of seven sets of stairs, six landings and one top landing area. This runs from 3rd floor level to the lower ground level at the rear of the property. The ground floor landing extends out from the staircase with an additional landing length of approximately 3.5m running to a further fire exit door.
Areas inspected included welds, stair treads, stringers, fixings, handrails, landing plates and supporting columns. We also visually inspected paintwork throughout to look for flaking or cracking.

Following full inspection and report to Camden Council, we carried out renovations and repairs to the large rear of property escape staircase including replacement of all stair treads. We installed riser plates & sanded back and primed existing steelwork. All new steelwork supplied was shotblasted and powder coated.
