Design, Fabrication & Installation of Feature Staircase, City of London

“EightyFen” is a 14-storey, 240,000 sq ft office building with a focus on sustainability (BREEAM Excellent, WiredScore Platinum) and occupier wellbeing.

Out of hours work installing switchback staircase, trimmers and riser steelwork in live office building.

We are working with the principal contractor in designing, fabricating and installing a new feature staircase at Aviva’s head office at 80 Fenchurch Street. This is a switchback staircase that we have designed and produced in our factory and has one half landing, with a 180 degree return and replaces the previous wooden staircase that was unsafe. We installed fire-painted trimmer steel beams to make the existing opening in the ground floor smaller.

We have also designed, fabricated and installed perforated aluminium ‘modesty’ screens to the staircase above, with minimal frame for rigidity
