Kitchener Barracks Redevelopment, Chatham
External Architectural Steelwork & Glass Balustrades
Kitchener Barracks
Architectural Metalwork Package
We were appointed to design, fabricate and install a full package of external architectural metalwork for the Kitchener Barracks redevelopment in Chatham, Kent.
The works included:
- 34 metres of 900mm‑high vertical bar fencing fixed to brickwork
- 37 metres of 1100mm‑high balustrade fixed to concrete block walls
- 67 metres of 1100mm‑high balustrade face‑fixed into reinforced concrete to match Phase 1
All items were manufactured in-house using flat‑bar frames and vertical infills, complete with structural connection calculations, GA and fabrication drawings. The full package was finished in Interpon D2525 Anodonic Steel Bronze 2 Matt, providing a durable and consistent architectural finish across the development.
Assesmont delivered the complete process – from survey and design through to fabrication, powder coating, delivery and installation – ensuring a high‑quality result aligned with the client’s specification.
